Snuggles of My Heart

my snuggles forever

Song for the Soul: Moon River

Moon River

Artist: Andy Williams
Words by Johnny Mercer and Music by Henry Mancini
From the movie "Breakfast At Tiffany's" starring Audrey Hepburn

Moon river, wider than a mile
I'm crossing you in style some day
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker
Wherever you're goin', I'm goin' your way

Two drifters, off to see the world
There's such a lot of world to see
We're after the same rainbow's end, waitin' 'round the bend
My huckleberry friend, Moon River, and me

(Moon river, wider than a mile)
(I'm crossin' you in style some day)
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker
Wherever you're goin', I'm goin' your way

Two drifters, off to see the world
There's such a lot of world to see
We're after that same rainbow's end, waitin' 'round the bend
My huckleberry friend, Moon River, and me

(Moon River, Moon River)

I grow up listening to old songs because of my Mama's fascination for it so I am already very familiar of this Moon River long time ago but it was during the "Lovers in Paris," a Korean drama series that started my love for this song. I could never forget the characters of - Vivian, Martin and Carlo. It was really a funny and romantic movie, plus there was that Paris scenes that made the movie more interesting for me . . .

I was fortunate enough to help a friend for her wedding in 2004 and we have that Moon River played at the church while waiting for guests to arrive before the ceremony took place. It was heaven to my ears . . . a song for my soul . . .

The Celestine Prophecy

My much loved book is THE CELESTINE PROPHECY
of James Redfield.

The greatest realization or learning that I have after a series of marathon reading is still Synchronicity - that Coincidences may have deeper meaning if we know how to look into and will just listen to the inner voice...

Why I got into this book?
Well, my Contemporary Philosophy Professor way back in College recommended this amazing book and I have been hooked since 1996 :)

My Recipe Journal

I started this recipe journal last November 04, 2006 but I have put up the collage cover consisting of WI leaf (Sorry for I don't know the name of the tree) and first fave chocolates (which I got during V Days) and candies given by him back in the day. I have just finished the little collage last week only : ) He loves to eat Baskin Robbins Mint Chocolate Chip. I love it also!

Through the years, I have collected a lot of recipes and made several notes related to it and on how to cook. I am into American and Chinese cuisine for those are his faves but I am also collecting Filipino dishes, my own faves so that I could cook it someday for us.

The first real cooking that I have done was during my birthday last year where I had a special baked Ziti. The experience of learning how to cook for the first time was both fun and tiring but at the end, it was very rewarding for my family loved it and I ate a lot, was so bloated after! Too bad he was not able to taste it then :(

Looking back, I grew up without any knowledge on how to do the household chores and cooking. I was never trained by my parents. We usually have household helpers or Mama would always do the chores but it changed when I have met him for he would want me to do the traditional things that mostly women would do around the house. And guess what, I have been enjoying it so far, nevertheless. Really enjoying the chores and cooking, though tons of it are purely practice and I would usually complain :)

Today, July 5, the entry for Simple Abundance Book by Sarah Ban Breathnach is Cooking Companions, what a great Coincidence then! Am doing my recipe journal and when I flipped through the Simple Abundance Book, I got the Cooking Companions as my inspiration for the day :) So sweet!!!
And I love the quotation that she has for today - "No one who cooks alone. Even at her most solitary, a cook in the kitchen is surrounded by generations of cooks past, the advice and menus of cooks present, the wisdom of cookbook writers." ~ Laurie Colwin.

Still of Laurie Colwin - "I know that young children will wander away from the table, and that family life is never smooth, and that life itself is full, not only of charm and warmth and comfort but of sorrow and tears. But whether we are happy or sad, we must be fed."

Priceless Words

Whenever am down in the dumps, I constantly read this note below - originally sent through e-Card and everything seems all right and perfect then . . .

"Hi sweetie, thought I would just send you a kiss,
I love you pumpkin.
You take care and be safe,
I miss you :(
Take all your meds,
Forget about work babe,
Don't put too much stock into what you do there or people you talk to.
It's just a boat, that will take you to your baby Jason,
And that's it.
Ok, so you remember that :)
It will all be over soon and you will be with me :)
Ok, take care,
I love you sweetie,
Can't wait until you are here,
Ok bye bye baby girl,
Love you.
Bye bye,
Mwaah :x:x:x "
